BTW... I used my two new brushes from Coastal Scents for this look (Tapered Crease Eye Brush & the Sable Blending Brush) and I have to say that I actually like these two brushes alot! :P

The Tapered Crease Eye Brush is GREAT for blending out harsh lines, it's stiff enough to blur out the harsh lines but not too stiff to the point where it'll brush away all of the eyeshadow. This brush is better at MAJOR blending.

The Sable Blending Brush is great to use when you want to add a tiny bit more color and blend it into another color at the same time (i.e. taking your highlight color on this brush and blending it into your crease color without OVER blending it or having the highlight color be over applied.) Basically this brush is good to use when you want to add a tiny bit of color just to help blend out a tiny bit more, so this brush is better for MINOR blending. :P

These two brushes are actually really good! :P If I had to recommend ONE of them, it'd be the Tapered Crease Eye Brush but I really think you should get both because I use both of them differently. :P Plus they're dirt cheap, but they work pretty good! I was pleasantly surprised by these two brushes because I'm not usually a fan of Coastal Scents brushes but these two brushes are definitely keepers. :D

So that's all, I'm on a mini getaway with my bf this weekend. :) He just turned 26, what an old fart. haha. I KID! :P Anyways, I'm out... time to go play some WoW. Haha. :D

Update: I've Got a Car Note To Pay Now

Wednesday, September 24, 2008

So if you know me in person (i.e. Jackie) you'll know that I roll deep with my 1989 stick shift Honda Accord. Haha! That's right... that is HOW I ROLL and that's how I've been rollin' for the past year or so. Haha. :P There ain't no shame in that because hey, a car is a car and whatever works works yo! Ha. :P

Anywho, I bought an upgrade. Ha. It's not "new" per se but it's newer than my previous car and I can afford it with a little sacrifice so I figured why not. Ha. :P

Moving on, I've bought a 1996 Honda Civic LX from my aunt but trust when I say it's not free. I got a car note to pay because I can't pay for it up front. :P Hehe. So we're doing the monthly payments thang. :P Boo.

So no shopping or nothing for the next 5 or 6 months. *sigh* Very sad... that sucks. LOL. But it's okay I guess... at least I've got a new car out of it.

Oh, and if you're wondering... yeah my new car is stick as well. To be honest with you, driving auto is boring now. LOL. :P I like driving stick because it keeps me entertained while I drive. Hahaha. PLUS my car right now doesn't have a radio or air conditioning so I can't imagine how MUCH MORE boring it'd be to drive that car IF it WASN'T stick shift. Haha. :P So I have a radio again & AC AND it's stick. Thank God! Hahaha! :P I honestly wouldn't have bought it if it were auto... I seriously get bored driving auto now... o_0

It's all about humble living peoples, it def helps build character. Haha. ;) So yeah, it's not brand spankin new and it's not super uber nice but it's mine and I'm paying for it out of my OWN pocket and that's all I need to make me happy... like I said, as long as it gets me from A to B. :P Hehe. So I'm excited! w00t! I pick it up this weekend. :) I've SERIOUSLY got to find my ipod transmitter because I haven't used it in forever and I don't recall if I misplaced it or not. NOOO! :( Boo on that.

Video: Miss Mai's Gift Video. :)

Thursday, September 18, 2008

Thanks again Miss Mai (pronounced like "my"). :) I really REALLY do love EVERYTHING you sent me. It's such a sweet thing of you to do! :D Forgive me for saying your name wrong in the vid, I did the vid before I asked which way your name was pronounced. Haha! :P

So SWEET of her. Thanks again doll. :)

Yearning for So-Cal Fall/Winter Weather

Wednesday, September 17, 2008

I want the fall/winter weather to kick in already! I LOVE dressing up in fall & winter. I love boots, scarfs, jackets, etc. LOL.

Personally, I just love winter attire and I honestly find it easier to stay WARM than keep COOL. LOL. :P Damn Cali weather... it's been hot again... cool off already man! :P

Besides that, my sleeping habits have been weird lately. o_0 LOL. I work weird shifts this week... so I think it's throwing me off. Haha.

My hauls should be coming in soon! Yay! I already got shipping numbers from both TKB & Coastal Scents so hopefully I have all of my goodies in by this weekend. :)

I think I'll be doing a tutorial on how I press my mineral pigments... quite a few of you have asked that I do one so I figured what the hey. LOL. :) Hopefully I can get it to show up on camera good! If not, I may just have to do a picutre slideshow type tutorial. We'll see though... I'm thinking I'll probably need to do the picture slideshow because it shows the details better. :P

Alrite, I'm off to go take a shower and get ready for bed. Bye! :D

Response to a Stupid Comment

Tuesday, September 16, 2008

So someone who didn't leave a name, email address, or anything left a comment along the lines of people are naturally assholes stop whining, it's something you deal with when you work with the public, deal with it blah blah blah.

Not all people are NATURALLY assholes but you seem to be among the few. Some people are courteous and polite while some are total douche bags, like yourself. :) Believe it or not, SOME people are raised to be respectful and conscience while others are sadly deprived of that, yourself included in that population.

Deal with it? Well obviously I deal with it, it's my job, but I can express that it irritates me... there's obviously nothing wrong with that. Work irritants are NORMAL and expected, but there is nothing wrong with venting about it.

It's called a RANT for a reason, a rant is a blog entry posted specifically to bitch and moan about whatever the hell you feel like. Oh, and guess what, it's my god damn blog so I can write about whatever the hell I feel like writing.

If you had to balls to write a comment like that, DO leave your contact information, your name, anything so that I can respond to you. If you're looking to comment something and not wanting a response in return, don't comment. :) You anonymous commenters are all the same, no name, no contact info, yet more than enough balls to say something stupid without thinking about it first.

To be honest about the whole thing, you were probably offended by the entry because you're guilty of some of the irritants I posted about. LOL! Sorry if I hit a nerve. :D

P.S. If you want to continue this conversation by all means, feel free to EMAIL ME. My email address is misschristiana@gmail.com

Hiding behind anonymous doesn't mean jack shit, so please DO email me.

Talk to you soon. ;)

EOTN: Purple Palatinate Love Song

Monday, September 15, 2008

I finally got around to playing with some of my pressed mineral pigments & the dark purple color from my Paradise AQ "Pastel" Palette. :) Yay! Hope you guys like it. :) Sorry it's not a full on FOTN... I only felt like playing with the eye makeup... not really doing a whole face. Haha. If you notice, I didn't even fill in my brows. o_0 LOL!

What I Used:
UDPP (1st base)
MAC Paint Pot in "Painterly" (2nd base)
Paradise AQ color in Dark Purple from the "Pastel" Palette (color enhancing base)
Pressed Mineral Pigment in "Pure Purple" from TKB Trading (on inner corner of lid & lower lash line)
Pressed Mineral Pigment in "Love Song" from TKB Trading (on outer corner of lid & outer portion of lower lash line)
Pressed Mineral Pigment in "Palatinate" from Simply Naturals (above the crease)
MAC Eyeshadow in "Carbon" (on outer corner of lid)
Cream/Gold Eyeshadow from Jesse's Girl Bejeweled Palette #2 (highlight under brow)
L'Oreal HiP Gel Liner in "Eggplant" (on outer corners of lower & upper lash lines)
Milani Color Brilliance Pencil Eyeliner in "Purple" (on waterline)
Cover Girl Lash Blast Mascara Waterproof in "Blackest Black" (on upper & lower lashes)
Elise Faux Eyelashes in "#300"

The golden cream color from Jesse's Girl Bejeweled Palette #2 is my new FAVE highlight color. It's such an awesome highlight color that goes perfectly with my skintone. If only they sold that color individually.

Oh, and I bought some more stuff from TKB Trading & Coastal Scents... today was payday. Haha. :P

I got the "Make Your Own Eyeshadow Kit" from TKB Trading along with a couple of colors that were neutral yet pretty. I figured that since all I bought in my last TKB Trading haul was bright colors, I should throw in a few neutral colors this time around. :P I got the "Make Your Own Eyeshadow Kit" because it looks like fun, and what's NOT cool about making up your own eyeshadow colors?! LOL.

From Coastal Scents I bought two more empty palettes and a couple of brushes because they're said to be dupes of MAC brushes and the reviews left on them were good, so I figured what the hey. I emailed them to see if they could add the original 88 color palette in, so let's hope they get the email before shipping out my package! *crosess fingers*

That's all really. I have to save the rest of my paycheck for necessities & bday gifts... there are SO many September babies I gotta get presents for! Haha. :P

Anywho, that is all... hopefully I update again soon! :D

.RE.EDiT.
Coastal Scents emailed me today and they shipped out my package before being able to add in the palette. Darn. It's cool though, it's good that they shipped it fast! Haha. :P Plus, I think me wanting the palette was an impulsive buy because I only wanted it after seeing xsparkage's latest hot pink tutorial on YouTube. LOL. But I CAN wait to get that palette some other time. :P Probably when I need to buy a refill item from them; like a new empty palette, EZ Prez Pressing Medium, or something like that. LOL.

Swatches Galore & A Simple EOTD! :)

Sunday, September 14, 2008

Here's something I haven't done in a while, swatches! Haha. I have today off so I thought I'd do a small beauty blogger contribution by giving you guys some swatches... haha! So here are TONS of swatches of some of my recent hauls. :P Enjoy!

I will be swatching ALL of these colors for you guys. :)

First round of swatches are swatches of my pressed mineral pigments! I actually JUST finished filling my empty Coastal Scents palette today and man is it pretty to look at. I feel so accomplished knowing I filled one whole palette of pressed mineral pigments. Haha! I wanted to play with some colors but I have a stye at the moment so I don't want to put makeup on it. BOO!

These swatches are arranged in the same order as the palette up above. Oh, and all of these swatches are applied DRY with a regular eyeshadow brush and NO base.

Look at that! Gorgeoussssss! :) Hehe. Pressed mineral pigments are AWESOME!

Next up are swatches of my Paradise AQ Palettes. These are water activated so you have to apply these WET, which is why the swatches are applied WET. LOL. :P BUT, I did take pictures of the swatches AFTER they had already dried down. :)

The green from the "Pastel" palette reminds me of that one LE MAC Paint Pot... I believe it was called "Pharoah". But it's more so green and doesn't have as much yellow in it as the "Pharoah" paint pot does. So the Paradise AQ pastel green is definitely MORE so green while the MAC LE Paint Pot is more of a lime green and has more yellow mixed into it than the Paradise AQ one. The baby blue color from the "Pastel" palette reminds me of the LE MAC Paint Pot in "Otherwordly" sorta, kinda. I think the baby blue color makes a better dupe for the "Otherwordly" Paint Pot than the green color makes as a dupe for the "Pharoah" Paint Pot. They're def NOT exact dupes, but they are somewhat similar. :P

And for the hell of it, a not so special EOTD I did a couple weeks back. It's simple and definitely not over the top or anything. So it's fun to wear on a day that you want a splash of color, but nothing too crazy. :P

What I Used:
Urban Decay Primer Potion (UDPP)
MAC Paint Pot in "Soft Ochre"
Pressed Mineral Eyeshadow from TKB Trading in "Totally Teal" (on inner lid)
Brown color Eyeshadow from the Sleek Divine Palette in "Chaos" (in outer corner & contour)
Cream color Eyeshadow from Jesse's Girl Palette #2 (highlight under brow)
Indelible Gel Liner in "Blackout" (on upper & lower lash lines)
Covergirl Lash Blast Waterproof Mascara in "Blackest Black"

I'm a huge fan of pairing teals/greens with browns. I don't know why, I think they're just really complimentary colors to each other and it always reminds of chocolate mint candy or ice cream. Haha. :P

Pressed mineral pigments definitely give better color pay off versus using them in loose powder form DRY. I think pressed mineral pigments give the same kick of color as foiling them in loose powder form! :) Just thought I'd let you guys know what I think, since I've been asked a few times what my take is on mineral pigments being pressed and how they perform in comparison. :P

Woo! I feel accomplished as a beauty blogger today. It's been a while since I've done an eye look or swatches. Haha. How lame. I hope you guys enjoyed this post! :D

Video/Haul: Mehron Paradise AQ Palettes

Thursday, September 11, 2008

Hi everyone! I know, it's been ages. :P Hehe. I'm surprised some of you still check my blog, but am flattered that you enjoy the content that I put out. Well, what can I say... work has been keeping me busy, eh? Haha. :P I honestly do miss blogging on here though. :P

Anywho, about this haul. I got two Mehron Paradise AQ Palettes and these are used for eyeshadow bases! They're water activated (think foiling) and water DEactivated so they're NOT waterproof, which is why I HIGHLY suggest using another base under it like UDPP (Urban Decay Primer Potion), TFSI (Too Face Shadow Insurance), MAC Paints/Paint Pots, L'Oreal HiP Paints, etc. The purpose of this base is to enhance the eyeshadow colors that you put on top of this base. :P So far so good, pretty cool. :P OH! Also, make sure to let the base dry before applying eyeshadow on top (just like foiling again. :P hehe).

I bought these palettes from Stagesupply.com for $24.00 each, I believe shipping was around $5.00, or something relative to that. :P You can find these palettes at many other stage makeup stores if you just google the brand/name of the palettes. :P I will try to do a review of these after I get to use them thoroughly. *crosses fingers*

So I guess that's it! :P Thanks for those of you who still read/watch... hahaha! No in all seriousness, I appreciate any of you who still read/watch... very awesome of you all... especially since I update so sporadically. LOL! :P Take care!

P.S. For anyone who may be wondering, the bright blue eyeshadow is my pressed mineral pigment from TKB Trading's POP Collection. It's the color "Blueberry POP!". The black/charcoal grey color is a color from my Sleek Palette in "Original" and the navy blue is Milani's Wet/Dry Shadow in "Blue Lagoon". =]
