Working ALOT...

Sunday, August 24, 2008

I try to keep updated and I would LOVE to fulfill request like I use to be able to do, but I really can't. :P Therefore, I will usually link you to videos or tutorials done by other people that I personally find helpful.

Alot of you requested that I do a pressing video but in all honesty, I don't do it any different from the other tutorials that are out there already. :P I don't have the time right now, but if I do get time I'll try to do one. I HAVEN'T filled up my palette yet. I'm having a hard time doing so because I hardly have time to press pigments. :P

I'm SO tired. I worked ALL seven days this week... yeah, this was SUPPOSE to be a part time gig but apparently I'm the only one at my work that has flexible hours and I picked up really fast... so they LIKE me working. :P Beh. LOL.

It's cool cause it's more cash flow in my pocket... but it sucks cause I'm tired and I don't have much time to do whatever I want... etc, etc. :P Lotsa people are telling me I work alot... and honestly... I work a DAMN lot. LOL. :P

Just wanted to give you guys a heads up.

I'm doing good at the job, actually great cause my bosses love me. :P Hehe. They always say that they like how I work & that I learn quick. :P I'm getting a good amount of hours (almost too good. LOL.) & it's fun to work at night because all the college students come in and it's hella busy. :P I LOVE to work when it's busy... I get bored when it's slow. :P I know, I'm weird. Hahaha.

The only sucky thing is that I don't have much time to do other things lately. Bleh. :P But it's cool. Hopefully they find someone responsible to hire so I can get an extra day off or something. Haha. :P

So that's all really. That's my explanation for why I may not be able to get to your requests as quickly as I use to be able to. :P I DO however try to answer all your questions as quickly as possible, so I definitely do try to get at all of your questions ASAP. Thank you once again for reading, I really do appreciate it. :)

Till next time! Btw... I just got home from work... I closed tonight and I open tomorrow morning. :P I'm SO tired. o_0 LOL.

Video(s): Haul From TKB Trading & Mini Review

Thursday, August 21, 2008

I did a haul/mini review video... and it ended up being really long. LOL. So I had to cut it into TWO parts. Haha! :) But I promise it's worth watching the two videos. :D Anywho, this haul is from TKB Trading and I've really been wanting to try out their pigments. I'm definitely glad that I did... again... NOT disappointed. w00t! :)

Anywho, here are pictures of everything I got in my haul. :) I show all of these in my video as well, but I like to take pictures too. Hehe. :D

This is basically the same thing as the "Bubblegumz Collections" from Pure Luxe Cosmetics & the "Lollipop Collection" from Simply Naturals. :) Only it's a better value because you pay $9.00 for all 7 colors AND you get ONE TABLESPOON of product. That's DEFINITELY more than a FULL 5 gram jar of product without the sifter! :P You get a TON of product from this company. Best bang for your buck, HANDS DOWN!

The Limited Edition "Edda Got Attitude" Collection

The Limited Edition "All Eyes on Ria!" Collection

My individual pigments, meaning not from a set or collection. The top two colors are the same, they're both the pigment in "Hot Mama" and they are one of the FEW pigments that are only 1 TEASPOON of product for the sample price of $1.50. The reason is because certain colors cost more money to make, therefore they give less product for the pigments that cost more to make... but 1 teaspoon is still a fat amount for only $1.50... no joke. LOL. :) Also, there are a FEW pigments that only come with 1 teaspoon of product versus the normal 1 tablespoon, but they ALWAYS list if it's 1 teaspoon instead of tablespoon... so be SURE to read before ordering! LOL

Just swatches of my pressed pigments from TKB Trading... minus the purple one. The purple one is Simply Naturals' pigment in "Palatinate" which is pretty much TKB Tradings pigment in "Grape Pop!" LOL. :) So same diff. :P

TKB Trading is an AWESOME place to shop! No joke! And for those of you who care, they have MAC pigment jar knock offs which can be found here. They're not exact dupes but they do look similar. :)

Anywho, here are the videos. :) Enjoy... or at least try to... I kept messing up. LOL!

Man, I'm so glad my hauls have been so awesome lately! It sucks when you get hauls that disappoint... :P But luckily I simply adore everything I've received. LOL. :) I'm just waiting on two more hauls to come in. Yes... I have more to share, I can't wait. LOL. :D

Video(s): Haul From Coastal Scents & Review of the Products that I Received in My Haul

Tuesday, August 19, 2008

So my first haul to come in was my coastal scents haul! Yay! :)

As you can see in the video I bought the new pressing medium that works with MINERAL pigments (yes, that's why I bought it), the empty 15 pan palette, & mixing spatulas. :)

LOVE THIS HAUL! It was SO worth it! :) Everything works grrrrreat! :D Haha. The pressing medium works like a charm as you can see in the vid. :) I pressed my simply naturals mineral pigment in "Palatinate". It was easy and it makes things so much more convenient for me. :) Just something to note, MATTE pigments ARE harder to press & take more time to dry/cure. So just FYI. :P But the regular pigments that AREN'T matte and have some sort of sheen to them are VERY easy to press. :) This pressing medium keeps pressed mineral pigments in tact so TWO THUMBS WAAAYYYY up. :)

I made the palette magnetic last night... after messing up a couple of times... haha. So it looks kinda funky from my previous goof ups... but it's cool cause I made it magnetic. At least I know what I can use now. Haha. I had a problem finding a metal sheet to cut up & glue to the bottom of my palette... but LUCKILY I found some in my kitchen. It was a can of Corned Beef. Hahahaha! Magnets only stick to steel... so I had to find something that was made of steel! It won't stick to aluminum, tin, copper, etc. unless it's steel with copper/tin overlay! :P So apparently Corned Beef cans are made of steel. Haha. :P I was going through my kitchen cupboards sticking my magnets on my canned foods trying to find a can it'd stick to, and Corned Beef was the winner. ;) LOL. Go fig. Corned Beef, how I love you so... not only because you made my palette magnetic but also because my moms makes some AWESOME corned beef. ;) hahaha.

Anywho, here are pictures of my janky palette. Haha. There is white paper under the metal squares because I tried gluing some magnet sheets to the bottom of the palette but I didn't like the results. :P So I had to tear them out... and that's why the white paper is there. LOL. Then I tried to color it in with black marker because it was SUPER ugly... it helped VERY little. LOL. Oh well... at least now I know. :P Enough babbling... here's my magnetic palette! WOO! :D

Here are the two mineral pigments I've pressed so far. :) The one on the left has shimmer while the one on the right is matte. I was impressed by the binder because I seriously doubted that it would work with my matte pigment because it had a VERY fine texture to it that had almost no adhesion to it at all. The matte pigment had more of a powdery feel to it... but the pressing medium pressed it just fine! :) Note how ugly my pressed matte pigment looks in comparison to my slightly shimmery pigment. Hahaha! I just need more practice is all. LOL. ;) Anywho, the matte pressed pigment isn't as pretty looking as the first pressed pigment but it works perfectly fine and it's still in one piece. :) So yes, the binder has definitely done it's job! :) I just need to work on my pressing skills. Hahaha! :P

These are swatches of my two pressed mineral pigments. :) As you can see they're very pigmented and are absolutely gorgeous! :D LOVE IT! :) Oh, and these were applied DRY & without any sort of base. :)

Now here's another video in which I review the EZ Prez Pressing Medium & Empty Eyeshadow Palette. :) I also talk a little about making the Empty Eyeshadow Palette Magnetic. :D Enjoy!

If you're interested in purchasing the Empty Eyeshadow Palette you can buy it here. If you're interested in purchasing the EZ Prez Pressing Medium you can purchase it here. :)

So I hope this super long post plus the two videos somewhat made up for my absence/lack of posts. LOL. :P Anywho, look forward to more posts and what not. I still have reviews that I have to get too! AH! I have so much to do but there are only so many hours in the day! :P

So I did some hauling with my first paycheck...

Saturday, August 16, 2008

but it was all online. Haha. :P And guess what, I did not buy ONE piece of MAC makeup for those of you who thought I did. LOL. I told you guys, I do dig some of MAC's products... but I'm seriously not a MAC addict. o_0 call me weird for not being as sprung on MAC as most everyone else is. =X

Anywho, I will definitely do haul vids/posts as my goodies come in. :) WOOT! So excited. :D

I saved some of my paycheck because I'm actually saving up for a new digi cam & new laptop. I'll be able to get the digi cam soon... but the laptop is going to take forever to save up for. LOL!

I worked...

Thursday, August 14, 2008

9 hours today (that's right! one hour over time!) and I am POOPED. Work again tomorrow... and Saturday... I haven't had a day off since Sunday. LOL. I'm TIRED... I can't wait to see my paycheck tomorrow though... I've been racking up hours like crazy. Haha. :P

P.S. I AM blowing most of my paycheck on makeup & makeup related things. LOL. You'll just have to wait and see what I get. ;)

Tired From Work & I'm Going Palette Crazy

Monday, August 11, 2008

First off, I wanted to start off by saying thank you to everyone for their kind words. :) Thanks for the good luck & congrats wishes. :D I really appreciate everyone taking the time to type out their piece. :D So THANKS! :D Aww... naks naman.

Anywho, I've been working pretty much every day since I started last Thursday. Actually, I had Friday off but I had to go to a wedding & Sunday off which I enjoyed by just relaxing at home and bumming it. LOL. :P Besides all that, I've been busy working & after work I'm usually really REALLY tired. I don't sit at work EVER, I'm always on my feet doing something... even my manager(s) have to tell me to take a break because I'm working too hard. They say they don't want me burnt out... but I seriously don't want to be a slacker and I want to get use to getting in the groove of things... that's why I'm always doing something. :P Oh, and I don't have a specific job or job title... since it's a small family owned business you basically do whatever needs to be done... so there's ALWAYS something to be done. :P Heh. Anyway, enough about work. :P

I've been going palette crazy lately... I think it's because of all of my recent traveling. All this traveling made me realize that I seriously NEED some good palettes to travel with instead of stuffing all of my single shadows in my makeup bag and having my makeup bag look bloated. LOL. So I bought all 4 of Jesse's Girl Bejeweled Palettes... then after I get paid this Friday I'm getting the 120 Color Palette from eBay & 2 other palettes from the UK from a fellow YouTuber. ;) I will post more about the UK palettes later and definitely do a proper review. So if you live in the UK & I end up liking them... this is definitely something great for you guys.... but you'll probably already have it since a few UK YouTubers have already reviewed and used the palettes in their YouTube vids. :P If you live in the US and I end up liking it... I hope you can find someone to send it to you from the UK. LOL. :P I guess I got lucky that the YouTube guru who's getting it for me is really nice. :)

Anywho, I've been wanting the 120 Color Palette because everyone and their momma has it and I think it's about time I got it. LOL. :P I probably won't review that one because TONS of people have already done so on YouTube and on numerous beauty blogs. It'll probably just be a repeat, and well, that's never fun. :P

So anyway... yeah. LOL. I will probably (hopefully) do an update on Thursday because that's my next day off... then it's back to work on Friday. LOL. Yep... They're giving me plenty of hours... but it's fine... more money for makeup right? LOL!

Thanks again to everyone for being extremely sweet and wishing me all kinds of good luck. :D I really do appreciate it. :P

So I guess that's it! Till the next time... :P

P.S. I'm breaking out HORRIBLY. I don't know if it's because of the stress from work or because I stopped using the Ly-Na Pearl Cream. I stopped using the Ly-Na Pearl Cream because my face was getting a little too light compared to my chest. LOL. :P It's probably a combination of both... oh well. Oh... I'm rambling. Haha. Okay, goodbye!

RE.EDiT: Correction. I have work Thursday. LOL.

Quick Update!

Tuesday, August 5, 2008

Hello dears. :)

I just wanted to give you guys a quick update on why I've been MIA.

First thing's first, I was pretty much MIA last week because I had to prep for my boyfriend's company party. It was their company party commemorating their 15 year anniversary and it was held up north in nor-cal. :) So I was pretty much packing and getting things situated with the BF.

We flew out Friday morning and I totally forgot how it felt to be on an airplane because the last time I was on an airplane was when I was 5 and went the Philippines (I don't remember that trip at all btw). Anywho, that was... different. Haha. I was good, just surprised. LOL. :P

The company party was that night and it was fun. The food was GOOD and his co-workers were sweeties. :) Especially Wayne! He's this flamboyant gay guy and I LOVE him. Bri introduced me to him and he said, "Ohhh, get up let me see you, turn around!" So I turned around and he said, "Oh, you're are too cute and you have great taste too!" Hahaha. Such a cutie/sweetie.

It started off with cocktails an hour before dinner, dinner & speeches, then dessert & dancing. Oh, and they had an open bar the WHOLE night. Hahaha. :P So yeah, the boyfriend and I definitely took advantage of it. Geezus, I feel like such a lush lately! First the cruise and now this company party thing. Ha! BTW... I absolutely love Bahama Mamas. Ha.

Anywho, we stayed an extra day and spent the day with his family. :) They're really nice/sweet people so that's always fun. :) We ate at Wingstop and believe or not I've never eaten there until that night, and oh man was it GOOD. Haha. I don't know if it's because I was hungry or what but it was really good. I got the Parmesan Cheese wings... or something like that? LOL. We also went bowling before that and that was fun. I just hate how every time I go bowling it reminds me of how much I suck at bowling. Hahaha! :P We also rented/watched the movie "Lars & The Real Girl" and I actually liked it. It's one of those deep movies, it's a little weird at first but the "doll" signifies something. :P Hehe. Anywho, our flight home departed on Sunday and when we got back to Cali it was HOT!!!

One thing that I do love about going up North is that it's always SO MUCH cooler up there! LOL. When we got off the plane in the Ontario airport it was hot and I said, "Yep, that's how you know we're back in so-cal!" LOL!

Anywho, that's why I was MIA for the past few days and NOW these are reasons I may be MIA or my posts may be sort of sporadic.

(1) Job hunting. I plan on picking up/filling out as many job apps as I can within the next few days, starting tomorrow! :P So you can imagine I'll probably be busy driving around town picking up the apps, taking the time to fill them out... and THEN taking the time to turn them in. :P

(2) Lack of a Good Size Memory Card for Videos. I don't do videos much because I only have one 1 gig SD card and a 256 mb SD card. You can imagine that when I record videos it cuts off in the middle and I have to switch the cards out and start from where I last left off. It IS a huge pain. LOL. On the bright side my bf is lending me his 8 gig SDHC & card reader so as soon as I get that I may be able to do some vids and it'll hopefully be less of a pain. LOL.

(3) Lack of money for hauls. I am job hunting for a reason so I don't really plan on having any hauls any time soon. LOL. So don't expect any haul posts and/or vids for a while. LOL.

(4) So-Cal heat crushes my desire to wear makeup. I do wear makeup when I pick up apps but it's either very minimal or neutral. I've done TONS of neutral/natural looks on this blog and they're pretty much the same as the looks I've already posted. I haven't done any new or different looks lately which is why I haven't posted any EOTD's, EOTN's, FOTD's, and FOTN's

(5) I think I've reached the point of actually being content with my makeup collection. I haven't really been "drawn" to anything makeup wise lately. I think I've capped it and I can honestly say I have all the colors that I "need". LOL! It's just now I've got to get down to the nitty gritty of playing with the colors I already have, BUT refer to reason #4 up above about why I haven't done so. If you guys can supply me with air conditioner 24/7 I'll do some colorful/fun looks. Hahaha! Keeding. To be honest with you my shopping wants are more focused on a NEW laptop. My laptop right now is fine and works okay but I want an upgrade. :P

So that's it really! So please excuse me in advance if I post sporadically or less frequently! Life's getting pretty busy right now and I got stuff I gotta do... plus the other factors I've mentioned above. Ha! :) Thanks to everyone who still reads this blog, I really appreciate it! :) Goodnight!

Oh I still have a couple reviews I have to post so I will do those soon. :)
